MASE Generators and Mermaid
To all those folks looking for an inexpensive and quiet alternative to running your Mermaid A/C unit, we now have the answer! Mermaid Mfg. and MASE Generators have worked together to prove that the MASE/Mermaid I.S. 2.5 Model Diesel Generator WILL IN FACT operate the Mermaid M-16 - 16,500 BTU Cool AND Reverse Cycle marine air conditioning systems! Surely, it will run all or other systems as well, however, we were quite excited to have worked with such a reputable generator manufacturer as MASE in order to prove that the Mermaid M-16 system will in fact run flawlessly on the I.S. 2.5 Generator. We took the quiet I.S. 2.5 (2.2KW on 60hz) and hooked it up directly to the Mermaid Model M-16 Reverse Cycle Unit and even included the Teel seawater pump as well as the March LC-3C seawater pump. We turned the generator on, let it run for approximately 30 seconds and then "thermostatically" started our Mermaid M-16 Reverse Cycle unit in both the cooling and heating modes. Neither the generator or the Mermaid had any issues what so ever! Both units performed flawlessly. This is fantastic news for those folks looking for a small, quiet, and efficient generator.
